LAcarGUY Wins Sustainable Quality Awards Grand Prize

LAcarGUY is proud to announce that they will be honored with the grand prize at the 2011 Sustainable Quality Awards (SQA) at the Sheraton Santa Monica from 11am ? 2pm on Wednesday, April 27th. The SQAs, a partnership between the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Sustainable Works and the City of Santa Monica, celebrates local business achievement in economic development, social responsibility, and stewardship of the environment.

LAcarGUY's Mike Sullivan Finishes Third At Toyota Long Beach Pro/Am Race

In a field fill with celebrities and racing stars, LAcarGUY's Mike Sullivan battled hard to a podium finish of third in the Celebrity Class and a very solid fifth place overall in the 2011 Toyota Pro/Celebrity race during the Long Beach Grand Prix weekend. Mike finished just behind former "Malcolm In The Middle" star Frankie Munoz, who is a highly skilled driver and competed in the Pro category!

By participating in the race Toyota donated $5,000 in Mike's name to the Racing for Kids foundation. Racing for Kids is a national nonprofit program benefiting children's hospitals in Long Beach and Orange County, Calif. Toyota has donated $1.9 million on behalf of the race and its participants to various children's hospitals since 1991.

Lakers 20th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament presented by LAcarGuy

On Monday, March 22, the Los Angeles Lakers held their 20th Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational and Dinner presented by LAcarGUY at the Riviera Country Club. With strong support from corporate sponsors, the team raised over $175,000 for the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation .

Approximately 140 Golfers enjoyed a sunny Southern California afternoon at the world renowned Riviera Country Club , which was in terrific condition as it recently hosted the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open in February. Sponsors had the opportunity to play golf alongside Lakers Legends Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, James Worthy and Mitch Kupchak.

LAcarGUY Celebrates Arbor Day By Planting Over 140 Trees

Over 30 members of the LAcarGUY family volunteered, along with the Tree Musketeers, the nation's first youth-led environmental organization, planted more than 140 trees in El Segundo on March 12th in celebration of Arbor Day.

Arbor Day is designated, nationwide, to encourage tree planting, care and celebration. Each of the trees planted on Arbor Day will generate $163,000 worth of oxygen, air pollutant control, water recycling and soil erosion prevention, while sequestering 2.5 tons of CO2 over the next five years.

Audi R15 TDI's Final Run at Sebring

The long racing season for the Audi Sports Team Joest begins in March at the 12 Hours of Sebring. On the agenda for the season that runs up to November are seven races, the Le Mans test weekend and numerous tests with the Audi R15 TDI and the new Audi R18, which does not race at Sebring. In order not to interrupt preparations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 11/12, the test and development program with the R18 continues to run in parallel to the opening round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 2011 (ILMC) season.

As a result, one car in particular will bid its farewell at the 12 Hours of Sebring, a car that made its debut here two years ago: the Audi R15 TDI. It celebrated its 2009 premier with a victory which was the ninth for Audi in this traditional event in the U.S. state of Florida since 2000.

Lexus Santa Monica Unveils All-New Lexus CT 200h

More than 300 exclusive guests attended the launch of the all-new Lexus CT 200h premium compact Hybrid yesterday at Lexus Santa Monica?the first dedicated Hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment and the most affordable of the Lexus Hybrid fleet.

Drivers had the opportunity to step behind the wheel of the new sporty, cleanest luxury model, while noshing on tray passed hors d'oeuvres, a make-your-own chinese chicken salad and taco station, and beverages courtesy of HOPE Wine , VeeV Acai Liquer and O.N.E. Coconut Water . Ninety percent of the waste from the sustainable event was diverted from the landfill with the help of composting and recycling stations. All service wares and utensils were plant-based and composted after use, with Sustainable Works on hand to educate guests on reducing their waste. Exhale Spa at the Fairmont Miramar also treated ladies to complimentary manicures at their pop-up salon, with live music by DJ Mateo.

For the 35th year, the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race will bring together a star-studded field of Hollywood's elite to race for charity. On Saturday, April 16, stars from film, television, music, sports and fashion will showcase their newly earned racing chops in identically prepared, race-ready Scion tCs on the historic 10-lap, 1.97-mile street circuit through the downtown streets of Long Beach in Southern California.

LAcarGUY And USC Trojans Score With Touchdown To A Cure

After thirteen hard-fought games and 56 touchdowns, the Trojan/LAcarGUY partnership generated $15,900 toward fighting Cystic Fibrosis as a contribution to Pipeline To A Cure from the LA-area Family of Dealerships. The funds go toward education and research.

"Our involvement with Pipeline To A Cure, USC Trojans and the many proud people who are striving to eliminate Cystic Fibrosis, allowing children struck with the disease to live easier, is so important" announced Mike Sullivan, President of LAcarGUY. "The nearly $16,000 that was raised from Trojan touchdowns will go a long way to help. We need to bring more awareness and fund raising to help in the fight against what essentially takes the breath, and ultimately the lives, of many youth".

LAcarGUY doesn't just talk the talk when it comes to living green, we embrace it with arms wide open! Over the years we have done many things to help minimize our carbon footprint, and with our new Open Charging Stations, helping others as well.

For the Holiday Season LAcarGUY are working with Sustainable Works to have Zero Waste BBQ's at all ten of our dealerships and state-of-the-art body centers. We are not only leading by example, but also teaching others to follow in our footsteps as well.

In 2008, LAcarGUY completed the Sustainable Works Business Greening Program , which resulted in a fifty percent landfill waste reduction after implementing companywide recycling programs.
In working with Sustainable Works we are able to divert more than 90% of the waste generated for the holiday BBQ's from landfills by recycling and composting.

We'd like to thank those that joined us this year at our events and are always looking for suggestions of how we can be more responsible to the environment, we look forward to doing even more great things in 2011.

The Sustainable Business Council of Los Angeles (SBCLA), a non-profit organization which provides a professional networking and education forum for Southern California businesses and individuals working with sustainable products, services, and processes, hosted "Electric Vehicle Roundtable and Drive-a-thon." The panel featured six key players in this fast-emerging and competitive industry who guided the audience through a topic that is especially integral to the fabric and future of Los Angeles.

The event took place on Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. ? 10:00 p.m. at Valcucine's showroom in Beverly Hills. The distinctive presentation reinforced SBCLA's commitment to showcasing environmentally-conscious businesses, and spotlighted cutting-edge sustainability trends and best practices across a broad range of industry sectors.

LAcarGUY Dealerships' Hit Dockweiller Beach With Heal The Bay

On Saturday, September 25th, 50+ LAcarGUY employees, friends and family braved the heat and cleaned Santa Monica's Dockweiller Beach as part of Heal the Bay's 21st Annual Coastal Cleanup Day. We joined a record-breaking number of volunteers that collected more than 50 tons of trash.

Some 14,131 volunteers made their way to the coast's waterways from 9 a.m. to noon at 65 sites throughout the county, covering 101 miles and removing 103,524 pounds of debris.

Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD) began in 1985 and has grown into a huge annual event. Every state with a coastline participates, including the Great Lakes states, and even some inland states clean river and lake shores. The one-day cleanup is international?at last count, over 60 nations participated?and may be the largest volunteer day on the planet.

Audi S4 Named 2010 Esquire Car of the Year

Pacific Porsche Brings LAcarGUY Style To Trump National Golf Club Event

This past Sunday, Pacific Porsche participated as a proud sponsor of the Wine & Beer Festival at the Trump National Golf Club above the picturesque cliffs of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, just minutes from our Torrance location. Proceeds went to the Providence Little Company of Mary and Rotary Club of Rancho Palos Verdes while the large crowd spent a glorious day enjoying boutique tastes from wineries and breweries both near and far along with fantastic foods.

With a fine display of Porsche vehicles: 911 GT3RS, Panamera Turbo, Cayenne Turbo and Boxster Sport Convertible, guests were able to satisfy their tastes with a range of performance, price and prowess. While many gravitated immediately to the recognizable 911 shape, the Panamera likely garnered top attention and was parked as the centerpiece of the arrangement.
